What is Medicare and am I eligible?

Medicare is a health insurance program for people 65 or older or people under 65 with certain disabilities or end-stage renal disease. Medicare does not cover all expenses and is not designed to pay for long term custodial care so it is important to understand the program.

Medicare Part A helps pay for hospital stays, skilled nursing facility care, home health care and hospice care. Medicare helps pay for some skilled nursing care costs such as a semi-private room, meals, skilled nursing and rehabilitative services and other services and supplies for a skilled nursing stay after a related three-day inpatient hospitals visit. Medicare pays for 100% of days 1-20 of a qualifying skilled nursing stay, but there is a co-insurance charge for days 21-100.

What is Medicaid and do I qualify?

The Medicaid program provides medical benefits for people with limited resources who have no medical insurance or inadequate medical insurance. The federal government establishes the general guidelines for the program, but each state establishes the program’s requirements including eligibility. Our admissions team can answer any questions related to your particular situation.
