Green Village Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation stands on the site of a former barn, where horses once grazed, and craftsmanship shaped every detail. Though the original structure was carefully dismantled, its influence remains—visible in the materials, the design, and the values we embrace.
The building is accented with repurposed barn stone, marked by hand tools and weathered by the elements—each line and toolmark a quiet reminder of the hands that built before us.
Above the barn stone, recycled bricks from the historic Gougler Building in Kent, Ohio rise as exterior walls. Once a cornerstone of local industry, the Gougler Building was a testament to craftsmanship and innovation—qualities that still resonate here today.
Inside, that same sense of purpose lives on in our work. Here, nursing care and rehabilitation are delivered with intention and attentiveness—shaped by the belief that healing is both a clinical practice and a deeply human one.
Throughout the building, we’ve welcomed back the horses. Sculptures and artwork reflect their strength, resilience, and grace. In the courtyard, a hand-carved sandstone rosette—crafted by our own masons—honors the artistry that continues today.
At Green Village, we believe that things with age and history are not only beautiful—they have value and purpose. This building reflects that belief, just as our care reflects the value, we see in every life we serve.
